According to data from SimilarWeb, Pokemon Go has already been installed on 5 percent of Android devices, compared to Tinder on about 2 percent. Clearly, Pokemon fulfills a basic human need that Tinder cannot.
Tinder isn’t the only app that Pokemon is destroying. It coming for twitter as well. Pokemon Go has about 3 percent of daily active users on Android and is about to over take the 3.5 daily active users on Twitter. Twitter has been around for over 10 years now and Pokemon Go has only been known to users for about 2 weeks.
iPhone data is less specific, but it has probably topped the Apple app store by now. Go id clearly a bona fide fad and it is sending Nintendo stock surging. People are coming across dead bodies while playing and trying to hack the app with drones. However sine this is a fad, the number s should be taken with a grain of salt. It will will be surprising if it passes Twitter. But til then, is it really any surprise that catching Pokemon in the real world is do much fun?
